"Toy design has always been a part of me", says Derek  Henderson, founder of Toymaker Studios in Honolulu.  "As a kid growing up, I was always the first one to take apart my toys...not to be destructive...but to figure out how things worked.  Okay, sometimes destructive, but the majority of times, I was mostly curious."

"I grew up influenced by all things creative...science fiction & adventure stories, animation, comics, computer hardware & software, and special effects."

After receiving his B.S. in Computer Science from California State University at Hayward, Derek moved to Hawaii to work as a computer specialist.  During his spare time, Derek began work on creating a toy company that would blend science and fun into each project.
